Marketing As A Department: Coaching, Process & Direction

helping your marketing team grow

Has your business’ marketing been managed by a few people in addition to their current job? Are you often facing the “I’d better post SOMETHING on social” conundrum?

This is a conversation I often have with clients, so you’re not alone.

The challenge is in an ever-shifting world with opportunities to get your brand found online, as well as navigating just who should own each channel, often the focus can get lost.

I can help your team:

  • Build a scalable approach to marketing

  • Understand marketing opportunities in their role and responsibilities - whether it be in a customer service context, technology & product development or sales

  • Learn and improve their skills in a particular channel, from Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Social Media strategy & best practices, how to write for SEO, how to edit creative quickly and effortlessly (and getting started in Photoshop & Indesign)

  • Build marketing reports & KPI structures for actionable business insight, and articulate their successes.

  • Work with creative teams - or source creative teams - with processes for briefing & sign off

  • Upskill interns on their career path through coaching and mentorship

  • Support with marketing job specs & hiring process

How do I do this?

  • 1 to 1 coaching and mentoring

Regular check-ins & a sign off process for any campaign artwork. Building confidence in marketing channels and copywriting, as well as content creation. Online via video conference or in person (subject to location).

  • Workshops & Seminars

One-off sessions covering a topic in detail, or a series of sessions to measure progress.

  • A bit of both

Pulling in the wider team for a review and attendance at management meetings to ensure the focus is retained and any changes in direction and approach are cascaded throughout teams.

  • Goal setting and check-ins

Not direct line management, but an external viewpoint on their current progress, check-ins and watch-outs for pressure points.
